fire extinguishers Testing Equipment
The integrity of shell linings in fire extinguishers can be tested using a high voltage holiday detector fitted with a carbon-coated brush electrode.
The circular electrode brush passes easily through the neck of the extinguisher cylinder and then expands to make reliable contact with the lining. Faults are detected by the voltage jumping from the electrode to the earthed shell, causing an alarm to sound. Special electrodes are available specifically for this application.
Our mains-powered DCCT unit is suitable if testing is incorporated into the manufacturing process or our portable PD series of holiday detector kits can be used if greater mobility is required.
