Testing internal coatings on large-diameter pipework
We were approched by the client who had a requirement for accurately and rapidly testing internal coatings on sections of large-diameter pipework.
Electrode system stays perpendicular to pipework and maintains contact through the full 360º; thanks to its single-piece replaceable phosphor-bronze brush, assymetric guide wheels and stabiliser system.
The electrode's draw rope is combined with its power cable onto a convenient reel. Two variants were made; the first had fixed stabiliser arms and wheels, making the assembly extremely lightweight and simple to use, whilst the second variant required a mechanism for collapsing the stabiliser system to aid the electrdoes insertion into the pipe. One installed in the pipework, the stabiliser system is engaged and the test procedure as a whole couldn't be simpler.
